Lecture Demonstration is a performance-based course to help Hunter students develop an understanding of the creative and professional performing experience. For over 20 years, the Lecture/Demonstration Touring Group outreach program has offered Hunter Dance Majors professional performing experience. This year, our LecDems toured virtually to schools this spring. Enjoy the selection of works.

MFA Performance & Presentation - Regina Nejman premieres “BUBBLE,” a dream-like experimental/contemporary dance choreographed and performed by Regina Nejman in which live dance is interlaced with projected animation by Theodore J. Newby and cinematic sound by Luke Santy. BUBBLE explores the capacity for imagination and connection, moving through an increasingly chaotic world.
MFA Performance & Presentation - A response to the events of this past year, “Just look the other way” is an exploration of the multifaceted layers of denial that obstruct our ability to understand the truth.
“Flight of the Inner Bird” is a coming-of-age piece danced by 11 current high school dancers through a series of reflective exercises to create phrase work. The musical score guides itself through excerpts of letters to the younger selves of 11 alumni from the same small-town high school dance program. The piece aims to explore the value in leading with love, learning to forgive, finding one’s truth and living in the present moment to aid in the cultivation of authenticity from the inside out.
